WELCOME dear reader to the site of the Cork Comitium of the Legion of Mary.  The Legion of Mary is a lay Catholic organisation dedicated to fostering holiness in its members.  It is organised into Parish based Praesidia in which members meet to pray. Groups of praesidia report to Curia, and both Praesidia and Curia report to the Comitium.  At every meeting, whether of Praesidia, Curia or Comitium, we say the Legion prayers and study the Legion Handbook.  We also engage in apostolic and charitable work visiting homes, hospitals and prisons, reaching out to those who do not know the faith in all its richness or who need prayers due to problems in their lives.

The Legion is a way of life aimed at holiness.  Frank Duff, our founder, believed 'we can all be saints'. He was a humble, brilliant and inspired man who laid out a path for ordinary people, leading ordinary lives of work and family, to achieve a truly Christian life through closeness to Our Lady.  Our motto is 'To Jesus Through Mary'.

The Legion has brought peace, purpose and happiness to generations of Catholic lay men and women.  We welcome new members, whether full members or Auxilliaries (members who due to life circumstances cannot attend meetings but who contribute to our work with their prayers).  If you would like to know more please contact your local Praesidium (details in your parish church) or Cork Comitium at Dun Mhuire, 35 Mary Street, Cork, via contact form on this page.
